BMSB Update

Posted by: in New Zealand

We would like to bring your attention to the recent update to the goods imported from Italy requiring treatment.

MPI recommends the Italian offshore Sulfuryl fluoride treatments are to be conducted by one of the listed treatment providers. Please observe that the list also includes treatment providers not accepted by MPI.

General BMSB guidance:

Italian acceptable sulfuryl fluoride fumigators:

If your treatment certificate fails to meet MPI requirements you will be offered alternative options , however please be aware that NZ treatment on arrival options do not include a Sulfuryl fluoride option, as it is not registered in New Zealand.

New Zealand is moving towards a requirement to use only approved treatment suppliers for offshore treatment of goods. When in place, importers may gain quicker clearance for their cargo.
