17-2019 – Offshore Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Treatment Providers Scheme: treatment provider suspension:

Who does this notice affect?
Clients in the import and shipping industries—including freight forwarders, importers and
customs brokers—associated with importing goods that require BMSB treatment during
the BMSB risk season (goods shipped between 1 September 2018 and 30 April 2019
inclusive).

What has changed?
Following the detection of live BMSB in a treated consignment, the department has
suspended Triveneta Disinfestazioni S.r.l (AEI: IT4005SB) from the Offshore BMSB
Treatment Providers Scheme.

Offshore treatment providers
Triveneta Disinfestazioni S.r.l (AEI: IT4005SB) will be listed as ‘suspended’ on the
Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers Scheme’s List of Treatment Providers and may
no longer perform BMSB treatments on New Zealand bound consignments. Any
consignments fumigated by Triveneta Disinfestazioni S.r.l (AEI: IT4005SB) will
be re-treated or exported on arrival in Australia. This decision is effective immediately
and no allowance is made for goods in transit.
